In 1917, nearly 2,000 people died from the Halifax Explosion when two ships in the Halifax Harbour collided, one of which was carrying almost 3,000 tons of explosives for the war in Europe. Boston was the first to provide supplies and a medical team to Halifax. For over 30 years, Nova Scotia has thanked the people of Boston for their generous help with the gift of a giant evergreen Christmas tree. The tree is transported to Boston by the Province of Nova Scotia, and is the focal point of the city’s annual tree lighting ceremony.
This year, Acadian Maple Products will be at the tree lighting on December 1st, thanking the people of Boston by handing out our pure maple syrup treats. These treats are attached to a card which has a discount code for our online shop. Please come out and see Brian at the event to get your "little taste of Nova Scotia" treat. Thank You, Boston!
