Wood Briquettes are made from 100% hardwood with absolutely no additives.
Because of their low moisture content, Wood Briquettes burn very efficiently and cleanly, releasing very little smoke and almost no creosote as compared to regular firewood. Wood Briquettes are much safer to burn.
Wood Briquettes release a lot of heat when burning. Be cautious not to over load the stove. We recommend a maximum of three briquettes at any one time.
Each 3lb. briquette releases about 24000 btu of heat when burned. Each 30 lb. bag contains 10 briquettes.
A full pallet of 70 bags (700 individual briquettes) (2100 lbs) approximately equals the heat equivalent of a cord (128 cubic feet of wood and air) of sugar maple firewood @ 20% moisture content.
The moisture content of these Wood Briquettes is 6-8%. Average firewood seasoned outdoors in the Maritime Provinces is still between 20% & 25% moisture under good curing conditions.
Local homeowner tests show that each Wood Briquette can burn for up to six hours. This will vary with the air flow and types of burning units.
